ā€˜Clubs across Campusā€™ shines a spotlight on BobcaThon (VIDEO)

51ĀŅĀ× Communications and Marketingā€™s latest ā€œClubs across Campusā€ video takes a look at a group on the Athens Campus with a lot of heart and some dance moves to boot.

BobcaThon is a yearlong fundraising effort that benefits the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio, an organization that provides families with children suffering serious illness a temporary home or place to rest as well as support in a location close to where their children are receiving medical care. Since its founding in 2014, BobcaThon, which includes 51ĀŅĀ× students, employees and alumni, has raised more than $133,000, with last yearā€™s fundraising efforts yielding nearly $75,000.

BobcaThon members wrap up their efforts each spring semester by participating in a 12-hour dance marathon where they hear from families who have benefitted from Ronald McDonald House Charities while also celebrating the groupā€™s fundraising success. This yearā€™s BobcaThon dance marathon is scheduled for Feb. 17.

In this , BobcaThon President Carolyn Appelhans shares more information about the group, why students enjoy participating in it, and how to get involved.
