
OHIO students, administrators to compete head-to-head in legendary esports challenge this Friday

51ĀŅĀ× students will go head-to-head with administrators and staff in an esports competition that is sure to be legendary.
Members of the Bobcat Esports club will challenge Provost Elizabeth Sayrs, Dean of Students Jenny Hall-Jones, Menās Basketball Coach Jeff Boals, Vice President for University Advancement Nico Karagosian, and College of Business Director of Consumer Research and Analytics Jacob Hiler in the game League of Legends. The five-on-five, capture-the-flag style game will be broadcast on Friday, April 17, on the .
The event will begin with a short pre-game show, where 51ĀŅĀ× President M. Duane Nellis will visit with game announcers.
āThis is a unique opportunity for our leadership to participate in a fun, exciting challenge with our talented students and esports competitors,ā Nellis said. āAs the esports industry continues to grow, I look forward to seeing how our two teams match up on a level playing field.ā
The game will be broadcast from 5 to 7 p.m. on the Twitch channel.
