West Virginia residents qualify for in-state tuition at all 51ĀŅĀ× campuses

Starting fall 2021, most West Virginia residents will qualify for in-state tuition for courses taken on 51ĀŅĀ× campuses.
āThis state reciprocity agreement is wonderful news for 51ĀŅĀ× and prospective students in our region,ā 51ĀŅĀ× President Hugh Sherman said. āWhile this partnership will certainly help expand enrollment at OHIO, more importantly it will help meet the regionās workforce needs and bring additional financial resources to the state of Ohio.ā
Currently enrolled and new incoming students may apply to receive in-state tuition rates for any undergraduate major for courses through 51ĀŅĀ× Athens, Chillicothe, Eastern, Lancaster, Southern and Zanesville campuses. Courses completed on eCampus will be charged at the non-resident rate.
āThis agreement helps 51ĀŅĀ× expand our reach to more students looking for a high-quality college experience close to home,ā Candace Boeninger, vice president for enrollment management, said. āMore students in our region will have access to an excellent and affordable 51ĀŅĀ× education. We look forward to welcoming even more West Virginia Bobcats beginning this fall.ā
The expanded educational opportunities are especially important for 51ĀŅĀ×ās regional higher education campuses located in communities adjacent to West Virginiaās border: OHIO Southern in Ironton and OHIO Eastern in St. Clairsville.
ā51ĀŅĀ×ās Regional Campus system was built on the premise that college should be affordable and available to all residents of our region,ā Dr. Nicole Pennington, executive dean of regional higher education and lifelong learning, said. āThis new agreement opens the door for current and future OHIO students from West Virginia to access a world-class education delivered right in their community at a tremendous value.ā
