Senior Associate Vice President for Facilities Management and Safety and Chief Facilities Officer Steve Wood announces intent to step down in September
Steve Wood, 51ĀŅĀ×ās senior associate vice president for facilities management and safety and chief facilities officer, has announced his intent to step down effective September 16, 2022.
āDuring Steveās tenure, 51ĀŅĀ× has successfully completed many critical projects that aligned with academic programs and needs,ā President Hugh Sherman said. āThanks to Steveās strategic leadership and professionalism, our campuses are more vibrant, sustainable, and connected.ā
Wood, who joined OHIO in 2014, served as associate vice president for facilities management and safety until being promoted to senior associate vice president for facilities management and safety and chief facilities officer in June 2018. Over the years, he oversaw operations of the Universityās Critical Incident Response Team and led efforts to safely navigate myriad crises including power outages, flooding, a major water main break, and a global pandemic, to name a few.
āSteve has done a tremendous job keeping our campus safe during extremely trying times,ā Interim Vice President for Finance and Administration Joe Trubacz said. āHis leadership and collegiality will be missed by all who worked with him.ā
Trubacz said he will work with Wood over the summer to develop a leadership transition plan for the facilities management and safety team.
