Tennis Center temporarily closed for roofing material repairs, renovation

51ยายื Facilities Management and Well-Being and Recreation have announced that the indoor Tennis Center has been closed to accommodate roofing repairs and a facility renovation. The outdoor tennis and pickleball courts remain open and are still available for use.

The closure of the indoor Tennis Center is expected to extend through summer, and the facility is currently estimated to reopen by the start of the fall 2025 semester.

The facility was initially closed after the roofing material sustained damage from high winds. The required repairs and restoration efforts to the existing structure, including electrical, and heating systems, are significant enough that the facility will remain closed until the renovation project is complete.

Both Facilities Management and Well-Being and Recreation are working diligently with their partners to complete repairs and a renovation that will enable the facility to reopen in the fall. The Golf and Tennis Center team is coordinating any accommodations, including usage of the outdoor courts.

Project updates will be shared with the University and Athens community via OHIO Today as repairs progress. Tennis and pickleball members will also be updated as information is available.
