The Center for Intervention Research in Schools (CIRS) is made up of 51ĀŅĀ× faculty, staff and students who are dedicated to improving the lives of children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral problems through school-based interventions and supports. The CIRS team strives to conducts cutting-edge, interdisciplinary research, provides training experiential learning opportunities to undergraduate and graduate students, and offers quality services to children, families and schools.

School Mental Health: Promoting meaningful engagement, interventions and leadership
Dr. Evans, Dr. Owens and colleagues recently published the Handbook of School Mental Health: Innovations in Science and Practice.

- Dr. Julie Owens was selected as the recipient of the 2024 School Mental Health Research Award. This is a national award given to an individual who has made impactful and outstanding contributions to the field of school mental health.

Upcoming Events
- CIRS undergraduates and graduate students will present their research at the 51ĀŅĀ× Research EXPO on April 8, 2025, at the Walter Fieldhouse.
- CIRS faculty will present new research at the International Society for the Research on Child and Adolescent Psychopathology.
- CIRS, in partnership with Nationwide Childrenās Hospital, will host a Summer Workshop on advanced school-based consultation skills for PAX Partners in Ohio in June (2025).
