Actor Musicianship: Music Focus Certificate
There is a significant demand in the professional theater world, on Broadway and beyond, for performers that combine great acting technique with professional-level musicianship. Sharing the principles of the Theater BFA in performance core with the technique and applied skills of the School of Music programs, this program will focus on skill acquisition in both areas, as well as synthesizing these skills together in an actor musician workshop.
The Actor Musicianship: Music Focus Certificate can be completed in 24 credit hours and is designed primarily for existing theater majors who wish to develop the necessary skills for actor musicianship outside their major of study.
Admission Requirements
Admission to the Actor Musicianship Certificate program is by interview and audition only. Upon successful admission, certificate paperwork should be initiated by the student at the School of Theater Office or the College of Fine Arts Deans Office.
