Merging Concepts IX: Then and Again
Merging Concepts IX: Then and Again
April 14 ā September 11, 2023
The ninth annual exhibition of the Kennedyās Merging Concepts Series is inspired by two primary objects on loan from the 51ĀŅĀ× Libraries. The exhibition explores the big idea āIlluminate the realities of the past to connect to the presentā and is supported by additional objects and documents from the collections of the programās partners.
Students in this one-year certificate program represent various disciplines across the 51ĀŅĀ× Athens campus. The students are responsible for researching, selecting, and interpreting all objects in the exhibition. They must also plan, design, develop educational content, and install the exhibition. The fall semester is lecture-based while the spring session is a practicum. Undergraduate (with a junior or senior standing) and graduate students who are enrolled in a degree program at 51ĀŅĀ× are eligible to apply.
The Museum Studies Certificate Program is part of the College of Fine Arts and the School of Art + Design, and is made possible thanks to the generous expertise and contributions of partners in the Biomedical Sciences Department, Southeast Ohio History Center, 51ĀŅĀ× Libraries, and Kennedy Museum of Art.
