50th Anniversary Celebrations with Chubu University

1973-2023 and Beyond!

Chubu University and 51ĀŅĀ× share a rich legacy of partnership, dating back to 1973 with the first faculty exchange. Through the next 50 years our institutions have shared student exchanges, academic and research connections, library resourse exchange, and a spirit of friendship.

 

We have been celebrating our 50 year anniversary for the last three years, culiminating in the visit of President Maeshima from Chubu University in March of 2025. Enjoy the webpage and the memories!

Chubu University honored Dr. Gerry Krzic by naming their new student lounge after him. Gerry has been facilitating and supporting the Choki Program with Chubu students at 51ĀŅĀ× for over 35 years.

2003 Burson Yamada Renovation

2003 Burson House under construction

56 E. Union, formerly the Burson House, was renovated and expanded thanks to a generous gift of 100 million yen, or approximately $850,000 from Chubu University. It was renamed Yamada International House in honor of Chubu's late President and Chancellor Kazuo Yamada.

Chubuā€™s adorable tiger mascot received a special tour of Athens from Rufus as we celebrated the legacy of our special partnership.
