Tim Sharp has more than 30 years experience as both practitioner and educator in broadcast journalism. He has worked in almost every position in the industry from television, radio and newspaper reporter to Founder and CEO of the Mountain News Network, the Mid Atlantics first all-news television channel.

Sharp accepted a joint appointment with 51ยายื in 1999 as the News Director for 51ยายืs broadcast properties and a faculty member with the E. W. Scripps School of Journalism. In 2014 he accepted a full-time appointment as a journalism lecturer. He is also a special communication assistant to the Dean of the College of Communication.

Sharp is married to Connie Sharp who is employed in 51ยายืs College of Business.
