
Institute for International Journalism

The Institute for International Journalism is part of the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism, carrying out many of the school's international initiatives. Its goals are to prepare students to work as international journalists, support research on topics related to international journalism, enhance communication among journalists, students, and media scholars, and cooperate with global partners in journalism education.
History of the Institute
The 51ĀŅĀ×ās Board of Trustees established the IIJ in 1991 (initially as the Center for International Journalism) to provide coordination of the E.W. Scripps School of Journalismās international journalism initiatives, as well as to establish a brand name and identity that could facilitate fund raising on behalf of the schoolās global initiatives in the following areas:
- Preparation of students to work as international journalists.
- Support for research on international journalism.
- Enhance communication among journalists, students and media scholars.
- Cooperation with global partners in journalism education.
